Description:Research Question Destination alternatives are in the current Swedish national forecasting system Sampers defined as zones (pieces of land) including shopping facilities that can be described in different ways. In this project, we are interested in two issues related to the destination alternatives. 1) What types of data are available for the description (number of shops, types of shops, shopping area etc.)? 2) A characteristic of shopping trips is that the attractiveness of one shop is influenced by the availability of nearby shops, whether in the same zone or in neighbouring zones and this joint attractiveness needs to be represented in the model. What is the impact of different and specifically neighbouring zones?
